Obituary of Francis J. McNally

Francis J. McNally, Jr. "Poppy", age 77, of Media, PA, and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He was a 1956 graduate of West Catholic High School and attended St. Joseph's University and the University of Pennsylvania. Francis was a Veteran of the US Army. He was employed with Bechtel Corp. for 34 years. Mr. McNally was a devoted coach and mentor for the West Catholic High School Football Team, and also was in charge of the school store. Throughout the last 50 years, Francis was involved in coaching various catholic youth organizations, including schools such as Our Lady of Fatima, Secane, PA and St. Clements, South West Philadelphia, PA. Poppy enjoyed entertaining in his home, traveling, cruises, but most of all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors: Loving Wife of 49 years, Jean (Reidinger) McNally. Daughters: Jeanie Iacono, Maryanne Broemel (Rick) and Heather McNally. Sons: Edward Dever (Marcy) and Michael McNally (Tammy). Grandchildren: Stephen, Amanda, Marissa, Jacqueline and Taylor. Great-Grandchildren: Calvin and Blyler. Brother, Neil McNally (Marge). Also survived by Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Mass: Saturday 1:00 PM, at the Church of St. Francis deSales, 35 New Road, Aston, PA 19014. Visitation: Friday 5:00 – 8:00 PM, at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Township, Media, PA 19063. Interment: Private. Memorial Contributions may be donated, in memory of Francis McNally, to West Catholic Athletic Association, 4501 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139.
